I have a nephew who is really into trains. This book was a gift for him but I read it too. I learned so many things that I didn't know - like how the jobs on trains may have kept the same names but they do different things now. Of particular interest was finding out about the very near future of trains. Running on magnets without even touching the tracks and going as fast as some airplanes. Wow! The author has managed to incorporate a lot of information into this book. For anyone interested in trains you will discover the history of trains, information about current trains and a prediction for the future of trains. I won't spoil that bit, you will have to purchase it to find out more. Kids will find this an easy read and will enjoy the learning process as a result.
Even Sheldon Cooper likes trains. I like trains and my grandson likes trains and we had a grand time reading this book and looking at the pictures. He wanted to go to the train yards and see them in person. Some we could, but most we couldn't, so we had to be satisfied with the pictures. This is a well-done, enjoyable book for kids about the wonder that was (and still is) trains.
